"Smile Now, Cry Later" is the debut EP from Oxnard Goth Soul band, The Crystal Tears. The Chicano band takes soul inspiration for Chicano legend Sunny Ozuna with their cover of "Smile Now, Cry Later" sang by Naomi Fuentes.

The EP also featues the Gothic Cumbia, "Por Eternidad" as well as a spacey shoegaze rendition of "Donnie & Joe Emerson's timeless classic, "Baby" and the fan favorite Oxnard Soul: "Sueño Azul". featuring brooding keyboard, guitar and cello/violin soundscapes and bilingual lyrics to create a unique Gothic Soul.

Fans of Slowdive, Spanish and Chicano Soul, Darkwave will not be disappointed.

YAY! Records was based out of Oxnard from 2006 to 2010 before re-launching in 2023 with YAY! 14 Flexi/Fanzine from The Avocados. New releases from Boy/Girl, Maria, The Crystal Tears are in the works for Summer 2025!
